Starting from 11th of August 2014 I have been working at Fuel-3D, a company which currently produces one of the most accurate 3D scanners in the market in its price category.

Fuel-3D is a spin-off company from the University of Oxford, originally producing a scanner to be used in the health care sector for measuring wounds. After a complete redesign of the medical scanner, we now offer a reasonable priced scanner "for the masses", that can be used by, for example, 3D artists, game designers, 3D printing community and so on. Apart from the scanner targeted for consumers (seen below), we also work together with various well known international companies in order to produce taylor made solutions specific to our clients needs.

The scanner produces far more accurate results than most of the scanner in its price class, as can be seen from the results below.

The scanner produces very accurate measurements!

Additional benefit is that the scanner produces coloured scans and it is up to the user to decide wheather of not the colour is used. Currently the scanned images can be stored in STL, OBJ and PLY file formats. For more results, please see
